At Volt our key philosophy is to enable people and organisations to fulfil their potential. This underpins all of the services that we provide for all of our fantastic clients and candidates, but it’s also extremely important internally. We think it’s paramount to invest in the people within Volt, to inspire them to learn, challenge, create and innovate.
Scott Siwicki, head of our UK Staffing division, recently acted as sponsor for a team of leaders from across our European staffing offices as they participated in a two-day launch event for our Situational Leadership Coaching plan.
Many different topics were covered in these initial sessions, from development of leadership styles and training on coaching teams, to feedback models and being a trusted exec. This is an ongoing programme delivered by executive coaches from Loop Learning. Our teams from Belgium, France and the UK thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
They may have been mentally drained and perhaps a little exhausted by the end, but a lot of fun was had all round and we are already seeing the benefit and results from the individuals involved and their respective teams.
These initial sessions will be followed up by 90-minute individual coaching sessions, as well as regular check-ins with the teams. Over the coming months we plan to monitor the progress of our new initiative, to enable us to review and improve for a refresher session later in the year.
As a unit, the group has formed smaller groups of 3 to hold regular coaching reminder sessions between themselves, as well as working together to provide feedback and advice to each other.
This development program will be extended across the rest of the business over the second half of this year, to include Volt Consulting Group (VCG), our MSP/RPO provider, and our Central Services Leadership Teams. This will represent a comprehensive roll-out across our European businesses, to help us progress our investment and transformation project across the Volt family.
Our new growth and transformation strategy is the brainchild of Scott, who is a relatively new addition to the UK Staffing team. Scott recognised a gap in our management teams in terms of coaching skills, and in order to engender change and transformation, the team needed new purpose, understanding and skills. This initiative has been designed to bring the teams together to realise these goals, enabling us to deliver on our growth, budget and personal development plans. Colleagues from across the EU came together to form a mutual understanding, creating a unified operating model across our European businesses.
We look forward to continuing to see them all fulfil the huge potential in the room and across the business.
Attending were David from Belgium, Laurent & Jessica from France, and Sally, Geoff, Jacob, Jamie, Nick and Garry from the UK.
Volt is proud to invest in our staff, and in the leaders of tomorrow. We have big plans for growth this year and only with investment both from and into the business at all levels will we be propelled forward with the exciting opportunities we see ahead.
Fulfilling potential, not only for our clients and candidates, but also ourselves, is one of the cornerstones of the Volt philosophy and one we are proud to strive to achieve.
